Practice Areas
Automobile Accidents & Wrongful Death The majority of my personal injury practice involves dealing with automobile and 18-wheeler accidents. Accidents also often occur as a result of state and municipal negligence involving traffic signals, highway design, or police officer negligence. I represent my clients in any type of personal injury claim arising out of a motor vehicle accident. When an accident results in the death of a person, I represent their estate or family in recovering damages on their behalf. In order to provide my clients with the most comprehensive representation, I will also represent them in regard to any related DUI/DWI or traffic offense that may have been involved in the accident. Insurance LawDuring the course of a personal injury claim, my clients may face the denial of insurance coverage or the refusal of the insurance company to deal in good faith. I pursue insurance coverage and bad faith claims on behalf of my clients, primarily in the personal injury context, but also for commercial or residential coverage claims. Admiralty & Maritime LawAs another part of my personal injury practice, I represent clients in legal issues relating to the sea including shipping accidents, marine cargo, and workers injured at sea, on navigable waters or in harbors. I also represent clients in contract negotiations for shipping cargo and in resolving issues that result from performance of those contracts and have extensive expertise in the requirements of the Jones Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act. Probate & Estate AdministrationProbate is the legal process by which a person's debts are paid and assets are distributed upon her or his death. Estate Administration includes the probate process as well as non-probate transfers of the deceased's assets. Individual state laws direct the probate court how to distribute the deceased's estate. State laws and procedures vary greatly, so, it is important to consult a firm with experience in this area of the law to ensure that the deceased's assets are distributed correctly. ContractsA small part of my practice involves assisting my business clients in negotiating, performing, interpreting, litigating, and terminating contracts involved in their day to day operations, including leases and contracts for services.
